13 years old male with distal radial # is this reduction accepted

Rudy Kwang yes it is acceptable. the deformity after reduction is still acceptable because it is still in plane with the wrist motion, it will remodell over time.

Rudy Kwang Dr-Ahmed Aboelazm for 13 years old, this residual deformity will be remodelled over time because its in the plane of wrist range of motion. k wire fixation is overtreatment in my opinion

Osama Sami Alkayar Up to 15 years 10 degree acceptable, for this case the angle is accepted.
There is more than 50% of width of bone tilting.
You must to fallow up with x.ray.
otherwise until now it is accepted but still ORIF butter.

Onkar Sudame These fractures are notorious to redisplacement because of brachioradialis pull. Get check xrays weekly for next 2-3 weeks

Rudy Kwang i have a different opinion. this kind of fracture in young children, in which the periosteum is thick, risk of loss of reduction/redisplacement isnt as big as in adults. this fracture is very stable, and non operative treatment with closed reduction and cast is sufficient. after 3 or 4 weeks it will unite.

Kyaw Kyaw Khaing There's still dorsal step ,may be due to inadequate disimpaction, and displacement may go on when swelling subside be coz of no three point stabilization seen in POP,

Kareem Saeed According to the acceptable reduction criteria of closed management which say that from 10-12 ys of age a less than 10 degrees angulation is acceptable and above that age a zero degree is acceptable, this is unacceptable . The only resource that advocate this x ray will be Campbell which accept a 10 degrees dorsal tilt even in adults

Ahmad Issa CRPP
Remodeling is not reliable in such age where there is less than 2 years remaining for closure
And the other advantage is that you avoid the risk of displacement
