The Phoenix Suns lost to the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday by the score of 104-96. The loss snapped a modest two-game winning streak and dropped the Sunds to 35-25, third in the Pacific Division. Suns backup guard Leandro Barbosa injured his hand early in the game. He finished with two points and two rebounds in 11 minutes.

Rotoworld.com reported that  Barbosa suffered a left hand fracture, according to the Suns broadcast.  X-rays confirmed the injury and it's possible that Barbosa could be dealing with a metacarpal fracture, which has been commonplace this season around the league.

With Barbosa likely to miss a month, so Ish Smith will get significantly more playing time, along with possibly Archie Goodwin and Dionte Christmas. The injury could also mean even less rest for starters Goran Dragic and Gerald Green, who scored 14 and 17, respectively, in the loss to the Clippers.

Barbosa is in his 11th NBA season.  The veteran started his career with the Suns in 2003-2004 and played with them until 2010-2011.  He then played for the Raptors, Pacers and Celtics before returning to the Suns this season.  In 19 games this season, Barbosa is averaging 7.8 points in 18.8 minutes per game. Barbosa has a career scoring average of 11.9 points in 648 games.
